Isn't the MiG-29 and its engines etc. made in Russia? So how do the various allies supplying them to fight against Russia get spare parts and maintenance stuff? #lazyweb

@sj when the Soviet union was still around they compartmentalized their production. Tanks were made in Ukraine. I don't know where the migs were made maybe Kazakhstan. #lazyweb

MiG was made in USSR, Ukraine was a part of USSR and had a lot of MiGs as well. Ukraine has existing infrastructure for MiGs, ukranian pilots know how to fly them. In a few words for Ukraine MiGs are even preferable over F-16.
