I need a browser extension to detect news articles that are just "[other publication] reports that..." and automatically take me to the original breaking article so I can see the original quotes and not a rephrase.
@sj Problem is anyone who actually wrote that extension would be hounded to the grave. Media don't like giving up clicks.
@sj ...the main problem being how many layers deep do you want to go?
I follow and am grateful for people who just toot links - its fine - but they often lead to some twitter idiot like the rainmaker copypasta dude who tries to obfuscate origins and so is a dead end or worse places you really don't want to go.

I agree. It is somewhat painful to click back up the link chain to find the original source.
