Linus Torvalds on GPLv3 vs GPLv2 and FSFhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PaKIZ7gJlRU
@sj Thanks FSF for creating GPLv2 :)
@tn5421 @sj It’s not a shitpost, Torvalds actually believes the GPLv2 is better, because he likes companies being able to make proprietary forks of the Linux kernel using loopholes like tivoization.
@tn5421 @sj The main reason being Linus does not actually care about defending user’s freedom, he just cares about code.
@tn5421 @SuperDicq but it's entertaining because of just how vehemently he criticizes the FSF
@sj @tn5421 I understand Linus’ criticism from a developer’s standpoint. However he fails or refuses to consider freedom from the user’s point of view in this.
